Safe placement

Never strap anything tightly around your neck. Sit back in a high-backed chair and drape the lit panel across the back of your neck and the tops of your shoulders, or recline with it resting there. Keep the lights facing away from your eyes.

Routine

Twenty minutes a day. A good moment is right after a long spell at a screen or with a book. Pair it with gentle neck turns and shoulder rolls.

See a GP if

  • You have numbness, pins and needles or weakness in an arm
  • The pain came on after a fall or car accident
  • You have a severe headache, fever or stiffness bending your head forward

Common questions

Is red light therapy good for neck pain?+

People use it for a stiff, achy neck and upper shoulders, especially from long hours at a desk or reading. Use it daily for several weeks. Neck pain with numbness, headaches or after an injury needs a GP.

Can I put a red light wrap around my neck?+

Do not fasten anything tightly around the neck. Instead, drape the panel across the back of the neck and tops of the shoulders while you sit back, or lay it across while reclining.

Is it safe near the eyes?+

Keep the lit panel pointing away from your eyes and do not look directly into the lights.
